Can coffee cure BREAST CANCER !?
In the study, researchers from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm found the coffee drinkers had a lower incidence of breast cancer than women who rarely drink. They analyzed data from nearly 6,000 women past menopause.
The women who drank five or more cups a day had a reduced risk of breast cancer rate of 57% compared with those who drank less than one cup a day.
According to a report in the journal Breast Cancer Research, the scientists concluded that the high levels of intake of coffee per day was associated with a statistically significant reduction in breast cancer is estrogen-receptor negative among postmenopausal women.
As reported by Dailymail, the authors also found a slight decrease in the risk of all types of breast cancer. Although this association was not significant enough to consider a number of factors such as age and weight should be taken into account.
The researchers speculate that coffee contains compounds that affect various types of breast cancer in a different way. This fits with the finding that drinking coffee may reduce the risk of breast cancer overall, although experts say more studies are still needed
